NEET UG 2025: Experts believe that no student will achieve a perfect score of 720 due to the difficulty of NEET UG 2025. The expected cut-off is likely to range between 600 and 610 marks. NEET UG 2025 took place on 4 May 2025, and over 22 lakh students took the exam at over 5,400 centres across India. Many found this year’s test harder and longer than before, especially the Physics section. Experts and students said Physics had more complex calculations, making it tricky and time-consuming. Overall, it was a tough exam, demanding extra focus and problem-solving skills.

NEET UG 2025: Pattern
The NEET UG 2025 exam was held on May 4 from 2 PM to 5 PM in one shift. Over 22.7 lakh students took part, making it one of the biggest medical entrance exams in India. The paper followed the old pre-COVID pattern with 180 compulsory questions—45 each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 in Biology. There were no optional questions, and the exam time was reduced by 20 minutes. Physics was the toughest section, followed by Chemistry, which had tricky and mixed-type questions. Biology was based on the NCERT book but was long and needed good understanding. To prevent cheating, the NTA used strong security like biometric checks, mobile jammers, and a three-level monitoring system.
Controversy Over 720 Marks
Last year, the NEET exam was so easy that many students scored a perfect 720 out of 720. This led to a big controversy, as such high scores raised concerns about fairness in ranking students.
To avoid this issue again, the National Testing Agency (NTA) seems to have made the Physics and Chemistry sections tougher this year. Many students found these sections more challenging, with harder calculations and tricky concepts. This change was likely meant to ensure that only the best-prepared students could achieve top scores.
