The NEET UG 2026 Re-NEET exam date has been announced, and the re-examination will now be conducted on 21 June 2026. Previously the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on 3 May 2026 has been cancelled by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Earlier, the registration process concluded on 11 March 2026, with over 26 lakh candidates applying for the country’s largest medical entrance examination.

NEET is conducted annually for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses across India. The exam was scheduled for 180 minutes, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) remains the mandatory entrance examination for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical and dental programmes.

The NEET UG examination consists of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, which includes Botany and Zoology. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response under the negative marking system. The total duration of the examination is 3 hours. To appear for NEET, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects. General category candidates are required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in PCB subjects, whereas reserved category candidates are provided relaxation in the eligibility criteria as per government norms.

NEET UG Exam 2026

NTA has announced that the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination will be conducted on 21 June 2026 following the cancellation of the earlier exam. The NEET UG 2026 exam conducted on 03 May 2026 has been cancelled by NTA. The result has also been put on hold, and a fresh exam schedule is expected to be announced soon. The NEET 2026 application process was conducted from 8 February 2026 to 11 March 2026 through the official NTA website, neet.nta.nic.in. NEET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026

How to Apply for NEET Exam 2026

The NEET 2026 application form will be available on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Aspirants interested can easily apply for it by visiting their website and filling out the form online as per the official NEET exam application date. Step 1 – Visit the official website of NEET, @neet.nta.nic.in
Step 2 – Click on the NEET 2026 Registration tab under the Latest News section
Step 3 – Enter the details asked such as personal and contact details.
Step 4 – Verify the details by entering OTP or Email.
Step 5 – The registration credentials such as application number and password, will be sent to candidates through email
Step 6 – Login with the NEET 2026 registration credentials and complete the application form.

NEET Exam Admit Card 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is is scheduled to be released on 26th April 2026 on the official website neet.nta.nic.in An admit card is a necessary document that needs to be carried into the exam hall. NEET Exam Counselling 2026 

The NEET 2026 counselling is expected to begin from July 2026 after the declaration of results and NEET exam cut off. NEET counselling is generally of two types:

  1. 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats – Admission and seat allotment for AIQ seats are conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
  2. 85% State Quota seats – Seat allotment for State Quota seats is conducted by the respective state authorities or medical councils.
