UP NEET PG Counselling Eligibility Criteria 2026

Below are the main eligibility requirements for UP NEET PG counselling 2026:

  • Candidate must have qualified for NEET-PG-2026 (for MD/MS/Diploma/DNB) or NEET-MDS-2026 (for MDS).
  • Candidate must have completed their one-year compulsory rotational internship:
    • On or before 31st March 2026 for MDS courses.
    • On or before 15th August 2026 for MD/MS/Diploma/DNB courses.
  • If a candidate has completed their MBBS or BDS degree from a government or private medical or dental college in Uttar Pradesh, they can apply for both government state quota seats and private medical college seats. 
  • If an applicant graduated from AMU (Aligarh), BHU (Varanasi), or AIIMS (Raebareli/Gorakhpur), they cannot apply for government state quota seats, but they can apply for private medical and dental college seats in Uttar Pradesh. 
  • If they completed their MBBS or BDS degree outside Uttar Pradesh, they can only apply for private medical and dental colleges, institutes, or universities in Uttar Pradesh. 
  • Candidates who are already enrolled in a course from a previous NEET-PG or NEET-MDS exam cannot participate in NEET-PG-2026 or NEET-MDS-2026 counselling until they finish and pass their current course.
  • Only NEET-qualified PMHS (Provincial Medical Health Services) candidates listed by the director general of health services are eligible for special weightage and counselling, according to UP government policy.
  • Only in-service candidates are eligible for state quota DNB seats.

Step 1: Register Online: Visit the official website: https://upneet.gov.in.
Step 2: Log in using your NEET-PG/NEET-MDS 2026 roll number and the same email ID used for NEET PG/MDS registration.
Step 3: Pre-filled Details: Now, the candidate’s basic information, including name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, etc., will be automatically filled from NBE records.
Step 4: Enter Registration Form: Fill in only the required details such as domicile, category, sub-category, in-service (PMHS) status, MBBS/BDS college, and address.
Step 5: Pay Registration Fee: Pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 3000 (covers 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds). For the stray vacancy round, fresh registration is required with a fee of INR 3000.

The UP NEET PG Cutoff 2026 is the minimum marks one needs to score to get admission to a medical PG seat in Uttar Pradesh. If we consider General Category, then the cut off would range between 300-320 marks. If one belongs to OBC category, then the cut-off mark may range between 280-300. If one comes under the SC/ST category, then the cut off may range between 200-240. UP NEET PG Counselling Seat Upgradation & Resignation Rules

For UP NEET PG Counselling 2026, the guidelines regarding seat upgradation and resignation have already been given. In case the candidate gets a seat in the first round, he or she will have the option of upgradation of the seat in the second round. He or she can get the upgradation done by appearing in the second round. The earlier seat allotted to the candidate becomes invalid if he or she gets a better seat in the second round.
