The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer key for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025, bringing relief and anticipation to over 22.7 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam this year. The answer key, along with individual response sheets, is now available for download on the official NEET website – neet.nta.nic.in.
Key Details of NEET UG 2025
NEET UG 2025 was conducted on May 4 at a massive scale, with 22.7 lakh candidates participating across 4,750 centers in 557 Indian cities and 14 international locations. The exam serves as the gateway for undergraduate admissions to medical and allied courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BSMS.
The question paper consisted of 180 compulsory questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology), to be attempted within 180 minutes. The option of attempting extra questions, which was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been discontinued.
How to Download the Provisional Answer Key
Candidates can access the provisional answer key and their response sheets by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official NEET UG website – neet.nta.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the link for the provisional answer key challenge.
Step 3: Log in using the application number and date of birth.
Step 4: Review the provisional answer key and your recorded responses.
Objection Window and Process
NTA has opened the objection window for candidates who wish to challenge any answer or question in the provisional answer key. The window remains open until 5 June 2025. Candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question or answer challenged. Challenges will only be accepted through the online portal; no other mode of submission is allowed.
To raise an objection:
- Log in to the NEET portal.
- Select the question(s) the candidate wishes to challenge.
- Provide supporting documents or explanations.
- Pay the required fee online.
Candidates are advised to carefully review the answer key and ensure their objections are well-supported, as the processing fee is non-refundable.
