As per the latest update, the NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026, and the NTA has confirmed that all preparations are in full swing to ensure a smooth and hassle-free examination process across all centers nationwide.

In a major upgrade, the NTA will implement advanced AI-based surveillance systems to closely monitor exam centres and detect any suspicious activity in real time. This move comes as part of stricter NEET UG 2026 Guidelines aimed at eliminating unfair practices and maintaining the integrity of the exam. From biometric verification and live CCTV monitoring to controlled entry and exit protocols, every step is being carefully designed to prevent malpractice.

Additionally, the agency has reinforced secure question paper handling mechanisms, ensuring end-to-end confidentiality from printing to distribution. NEET UG 2026 Guidelines For Exam

All candidates must strictly follow the instructions issued by NTA on the exam day. These rules are important for smooth and fair conduct of the examination. 

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
• No entry will be allowed after gate closing time.
• Candidates cannot leave the exam hall before the exam ends.
• After the exam, wait for the invigilator’s instructions before leaving your seat.
• Read and follow all instructions given in the admit card carefully.

Admit Card & Documents

• Admit card has 3 pages: Centre details, Self-Declaration (Undertaking), and Instructions.
• Carry all pages of the admit card.
• Admit card is provisional, subject to eligibility verification.
• Verify exam centre location one day before the exam.

Entry Restrictions

• No entry without:
  • Admit card
  • Valid ID proof
  • Proper frisking
• Frisking will be done using handheld metal detectors (HHMD).

Items Allowed Inside Exam Hall

• Personal transparent water bottle
• Additional photograph (same as application form)
• Admit card with self-declaration form and photo affixed

Self-Declaration Form

• Fill all required details before reaching the centre
• Ensure clear signature and left-hand thumb impression

Biometric & Verification

• Biometric verification is mandatory (with some exceptions)
• Carry updated Aadhaar Card for verification

PwD/PwBD Candidates

• Must bring valid PwD certificate
• Scribe facility available if requested in application
• Extra 1 hour compensatory time allowed if applicable

Prohibited Items

• No mobile phones, electronic devices, or personal belongings allowed
• Exam authorities are not responsible for lost items

Other Important Rules

• No blank sheets will be provided for rough work
• Use only the space given in the test booklet
• Failure to follow rules may lead to disqualification

Biometric Verification Rules for NEET UG 2026

Candidates will have to go through biometric verification after security checks at the exam centre.

However, NTA has mentioned some exceptions where biometric verification may not be completed, such as:

• If the biometric system or hardware fails
• If fingerprints or biometrics are unclear or of poor quality
• If there are technical issues with the UIDAI system
• If a candidate has a physical condition that prevents biometric capture

If biometric verification cannot be completed, the candidate must fill out a NEET Undertaking Form available at the exam centre.

NEET UG 2026 Self-Declaration Form

All candidates must carry a printed and original self-declaration (undertaking) form to enter the exam centre.

Steps to fill the form:

• Step 1: Download the NEET UG admit card
• Step 2: Take a clear printout of the form
• Step 3: Fill in personal details carefully on the self-declaration form
• Step 4: Paste one passport-size photo and one postcard-size photo
• Step 5: Sign the form and add your left thumb impression

Candidates must carry the admit card along with all pages of the self-declaration form to the examination centre.
