NEET Exam Pattern 2025: The National Test Agency (NTA) has released the NEET exam pattern in January, stating that the mode of examination is pen and paper-based. There will only be 180 questions in the new pattern. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours and 4 marks will be allotted for every correct answer, and a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. The NEET 2025 exam date is 04 May 2025, and the registration deadline was 07 March 2025.

NEET Exam Pattern 2025

NEET 2025 is scheduled to be held on 04 May 2025, for more than 23 lakh applicants this year. NTA is the conducting body for the entrance examination and has released a revised exam pattern for NEET 2025. From this year, there will be only 180 questions, each question carrying 4 marks, which makes a total of 720 marks. The question paper will consist of 45 questions, each from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. 

The new pattern released by NTA gives no multiple-choice questions in section B, though the marking scheme remains the same, four marks are allotted for every right answer and a negative marking of one mark for every incorrect answer. Aspiring medical students must be familiar with the new pattern of examination to seek better results. Candidates will be provided with an OMR sheet to be filled using a blue/black ball point pen. The question paper will be available in multiple languages such as Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi and Urdu.

NEET 2025 Marking Scheme

As per the revised pattern, 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and there is a penalty of one mark for every incorrect answer with no marks awarded for unattempted questions.
