The central government added physiotherapy to the list of main courses of medical. For the government and the private college, NEET UG is compulsory. After completing the course, physiotherapists will use “Dr.” before their name and “PT” after it. This decision is expected to improve the course quality and job opportunities. It has been made under the Health and Allied Healthcare Bill, 2021.

Compulsion of NEET-UG in Medical Courses

The importance of physiotherapy in the medical field, the central government has now include it among the main professional medical courses. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a notification making the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) mandatory in government and reputed private institutions for the admission to this course.

The passing of this bill, every hospital will have a separate physiotherapy department, and it will be registered independently. Physiotherapists will need to take an exam every three years to update their knowledge. Their education and clinical roles will be treated individually.

At IGIMS, a separate physiotherapy department has been running for the past 25 years. Bachelor-level physiotherapy education has been provided for the past seven years, and admissions were done through NEET-UG for the last four years.

NTA has launched a new platform to report suspected cases in NEET-UG

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started a new platform to report any suspected activities related to the NEET-UG 2025 exam. This movement comes after issues like paper leaks were reported during last year’s exam, and NTA aims to prevent such problems this year.

Candidates can use this website http://neetclaim.centralindia.cloudapp.azure.com/ to report any suspected cases related to NEET-UG. The NTA mentioned that the reporting form filling is very easy for the students. Candidates only need to be given information about the suspected activities, along with the time and place where it happened.

NTA has given three main categories for the candidates can report. First, illegal websites or social media accounts that say they have NEET question papers. Second, people who say they have exam materials. Third, people who pretend to be NTA or government officials and try to cheat. Anyone can raise a complaint in any of these three areas.

NOTE – NTA has requested that candidates avoid any kind of suspected activity and report it through this new platform.
