NEET UG 2026 Seat Matrix: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the NEET UG 2026 Seat Matrix for the 2026-27 academic session on its official website. The NEET UG 2026 Seat Matrix indicates the total number of MBBS seats available for admission in medical colleges across the country. As per the latest data, India has a total of 1,36,939 MBBS seats under the NMC MBBS Seat Matrix 2026 in 823 medical colleges. The seat matrix highlights that there are 9,911 newly added MBBS seats compared to the previous year, providing more opportunities for medical aspirants across the country. Source

It is to be noted that this seat matrix does not include the seats of Institutes of National Importance (INIs) like AIIMS and JIPMER, as the admissions to these institutes are managed separately. The NMC has also said that the present seat matrix is provisional, which means that it may be revised if any changes are approved later.
